Abstract

objectives: Social intelligence is an important and outstanding feature for the managers to communicate properly with the employees and so their performance affects the efficiency of the whole organization. Managers' social intelligence is considered as a tool to upgrade the workplace to a safe and quiet place, a place which provides happiness and well-being for employees. So, the aim of this study is to investigate relationship between social intelligence of hotel managers as a managerial skill and measuring the impact of its components (social awareness, social information processing and social skills) on the employees' happiness in hotels in Isfahan.

Methods: This research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey method has been used to collect data. The statistical population of the research is hotels in Isfahan, which according to available statistics, there is56 hotels in it. Due to the small number of people, the census technique was used. So53 hotels were responsible and 53 managers and 200 employees as a sample participated in this study. This research is cross-sectional in terms of data type, quantity and time. The standard "Oxford Happiness" and "Social Intelligence" questionnaires were used to collect information.

results: The results showed a positive and significant relationship between hotel manager's social intelligence and happiness in employees of hotels in Isfahan.

Conclusion: Increasing the social intelligence of managers can lead to improving the level of employee happiness. Among the three components, "social skill" is more effective than other components on employees' happiness.
